Eco-Fair 5-6 October 2007
Helsby Methodist Church is concerned, as we all should be, for the environment and for the future of our planet. There is increasing recognition that much environmental damage has been done by human activities, and that steps must be taken to reduce that damage.

Many of us are not sure what we can do to help.
Should we ...
- use our cars less?
- buy a bicycle?
- refuse to buy over-packed goods?
- compost our kitchen and garden waste?
- plant a tree if we use an aeroplane?
- install double glazing, roof insulation, solar panels or a wind turbine?
- turn the central heating down?

The Eco-Fair provided some answers to these and many other questions. Local authorities showed us how they are dealing with waste and improving the environment, companies provided information on energy-saving devices and how they are going to reduce packaging, schools showed how they are educating children to care for the environment, Cheshire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre were there to give advice, and there was more besides. Helsby Methodist Church also carried out an environmental audit of their premises.
